Honda NSX
The Honda NSX was first produced in 1990, the Honda NSX name means “New Sportscar eXperimental” the NSX is a 2 seater rear wheel drive mid engined sports car. It was first produced with a 3000cc engine and the body was manufactured out of aluminum with many hand crafted parts, the engine produced 270bhp. The JDM NSX was by many people, a dream car it had the sleek looks of a supercar and even came in a type R version but the Type R NSX was only produced in limited numbers of 500 units. The NSX-R was manufactured due to pressure from many other manufacturers claiming the NSX was not able to compete with the rivals of ferrari and porsche, the NSX-R has 280bhp as standard. Due to the limited production numbers of the TYPE R NSX, this has pushed the NSX-R out of many people’s price range, and they are even very hard to find previous sales data of cars. There is currently one NSX-R for sale in japan at a cost of $109,000 before any export or tax fees.
As the Honda NSX-r is totally out of many people’s price range, a normal NSX is considerably cheaper to buy compared to the type R version and can look just as good, one of the main differences between the 2 car types is the type r NSX weights 264 lbs less than the normal car.
The Black NSX below is a 1991 car with 154,000 kms, the NSX looks amazing in black with the rear spoiler and work alloy wheels, unfortunately this car went through auction lately and was graded as a crash repair vehicle with accident damage to the front and one side. This style of Honda NSX should sell for around $20,000 at auction in japan, it looks amazing.
Red Honda NSX
The below red 1990 NSX sold in auction for $25,000 in japan, it was a grade 3.5 this was partially down to the large kilometers of 189,000kms that was on the clocks. The clocks are not original they are aftermarket clocks that read 340 kilometers per hour. The car has Volk racing alloy wheels with a nice dish on the rear, overall the car is in super condition with only one small scratch on one side.
Silver Honda NSX
The below silver NSX has a full bodykit with Regamaster evo alloys, that were rebranded by Spoon. The car has 108,000kms and is a 1991 with a grade 3.5 at auction. This NSX is not as clean as the previous cars, the front splitter has bad scratches, the roof has 2 bad dents, there’s large scratches on the passenger side. the car sold at auction for $24,000, which I think is good value for a car that looks so good.
One of my favourite youtube videos is of Senna driving the stones out of the NSX-R around Suzuka track in the 1990s, it’s worth a look at just for the noise of the car and to see a man with that much skill drive a car so fast in what looks like slippers.
