Starlet Ep82 Turbo
The Ep71 1300cc starlet turbo was the first turbo starlet with a 105hp engine. The Ep71 starlet was known for its agility, this was one of the main reasons for its popularity. It had cutting edge technology for its age with electronic controlled TEMs suspension setup.
The little ep82 starlet turbo was first produced in 1989 and proved to be a success this was due to the 135hp turbo engine and only weighing 850kg. The little car boasted an 8.2 second 0-60 time on the sales brochure. The car came in many different trim levels including optional Recaro interior. The 1331cc 4EFTE 16v engine was highly tunable and many people got the car and boosted the horsepower easily to 200bhp with the addition of a few bolt on parts.
The Starlet Ep82 turbo was produced in large number and for many years they were very popular around europe and Japan but they are starting to get rare now and a clean car is even harder to find. The white Starlet turbo below is up for auction in japan and is in great condition with only minor stone chips. The Starlet is a 1993 model with only 73,000 kms and a grade 4 in auction, which is unbelievable for a car of this age to achieve. The car looks in totally stock condition apart from the alloy wheels, there doesn’t seem to be any other extras listed on the auction sheet. A Starlet turbo in this condition could sell in Japan from $1,000 to $2,000.
The Starlet Ep82 Turbo came in a number of different specifications but the most sought after model is the GT Advance. The GT Advance can be identified from normal starlet turbos by the two-tone grey over black paint work plus they came from the factory with a host of optional extras as standard. The Below Starlet turbo is an advance model, it’s a 1995 car and a grade 3.5 with only 62,000 kms, now that’s a cool little car.
