Toyota Sprinter Trueno TE27
The Sprinter Trueno TE27 was first produced in 1972, they continued manufacturing this model until 1974. The Trueno TE27 had a 1.6 litre 2TE-G twincam engine that produced 101 BHP, the twin cam engine was only offered to the coupe version of the TE27 Sprinter. The Trueno version of the sprinter had brake discs on the front with larger rear drums on the rear. Toyota claimed the Sprinter could do a whopping 118 mph top speed.
The Sprinter Trueno TE27 was an expensive car in 1972 with a starting price of $2,700, which would have been around 20% more expensive than its closest rival the Mazda Savanna coupe. The Sprinter was only exported from Japan in small numbers and was not sold directly in different countries.

Black Sprinter Trueno TE27
The Black Trueno TE27 sold at auction for $11,900 but it wasn’t in great condition. The TE27 has quite a lot of dints and bad scratched in both sides and the roof. To be fair the car still looks great in the pictures but with classic cars that’s not always the case, as the paint can hide a multitude of rust and damage.
Green Sprinter Trueno TE27
The Green Trueno TE27 sold at auction $15,500 and has had some overhaul work done, the body hasn’t got a mark on it but the interior is grubby. Its a 1974 Sprinter Trueno TE27 with an unconfirmed 81,000 kms.
