Classic Old School Skylines
There are many replica KPGC10 GT-R Skyline for sale that can look just as good as the genuine Skyline but they just aren’t the genuine Hakosuka and due to this the original skyline GT-R can fetch mega money when they pop their head up in Japan.
There has been two genuine GT-R Hakosuka Skylines come up for sale in the last 3 months in Japan and both times the money the cars sold for was quite large, especially if anyone was planning to export them.
GT-R Hakosuka
The above Hakosuka Nissan Skyline was a 1972 car with 22,589kms (not genuine KM’s marked on auction sheet). The car looks in good condition from the auction pictures and it has the original engine too. The auction sheet states visible corrosion issues on the door, which can’t be good for a car of this age? The chassis number of the Hakosuka skyline is KPGC10-001299 and it sold for $129,190 on April 21st.
The second Hakosuka Nissan Skyline GT-R sold on June 16th, the skyline is a 1971 car with only 40,590kms on the clock (again not genuine). The car is a Grade R, which is common for older Classic old school JDM cars, it could mean the cars has been restored or repair work. The auction sheet states there’s small corrosion on the door and a few minor scratches on the front lip. The car seems to have had extensive bodywork with the addition of flared arches and wider wheels. The cars chassis number is KPGC10-01231 and it sold for $115,524. The color coded arches look amazing, this car looks unbelievable.
Replica GT-R Hakosuka
There are many options to buy a classic Nissan and some of the replica GT-R Hakosuka can be just as appealing and in even better condition than the original GT-R. The below car is for sale on Yahoo auctions for $81,800 but it’s had a full restoration from the ground up with photos to prove it.
The classic Nissan has extensive work on the body and the engine. The engine is a L28 bored out to 3.0L with Solex carbs and lightweight flywheel, just to name a few of the engine modifications. More details can be found here.
Project Hakosuka
Most people can only dream of owning a classic Nissan JDM car as their prices are just too high or the newer cars cannot be imported into certain countries. A project classic Nissan can be the answer to all these problems.
The car is a 1972 Hakosuka with 50,000kms on it, the owner has started restoring it. The Hakosuka is rolling and has had new sills replaced. This is a perfect car to restore as it comes with original spare parts and is rolling. The car is at auction here and is sitting at $1,500.
GC110 Kenmeri Skyline
The Kenmeri Skyline was the first skyline to return to using the famous round rear taillights that are now used on all modern skylines.
The above Kenmeri Skyline is a 1975 car with 36,000 kms. The classic Nissan has a L28 engine with Solex44 carbs and strengthened clutch and flywheel. The skyline is in good condition and is a company demo car. The Kenmeri skyline is for sale for $45,000 here.
Skyline GT-EX C211 Turbo
The GT-EX Skyline was the first JDM production car to come with a turbocharged engine. One amazing fact about theses cars is they didn’t come equipped with a blow off valve or intercooler for the turbo from the factory. The below car is a 1981 skyline with 76,800kms on the clock and 2,000-liter turbo engine. The owner states the car is in a garage in winter and it seems like it been taken care of, to a high standard. The car is for sale here for $38,300, the GT-EX is an awesome looking car especially in this color combination. I love the simple gold decals along the side panels.
